Rock needs saving from itself, not become a set of poses and chlichés. To stay relevant it needs to develop and aim higher than ”look how cool we are”. I think when rock started out, young people were so oppressed to behave in a modest and controlled way that that anyone could break with that was magical. But that’s not enough now. That’s my preaching for today. Who will save it? Built to spill are definitely one of them.
